Take public transport around Destination The Triangle Region

In the Kolding and Billund area, there are plenty of options to get around by public transport. Bus connections are good and in Kolding there are good train connections to the rest of Denmark, and there are many bus stops located around both Kolding and Billund.

Centrally located in Kolding town centre, right next to the railway station, you will find the bus terminal, where most buses pass through.

Billund is located right in the heart of Jutland and has good connections around the country. From Billund, it’s the same distance to the east coast and the west coast, and it’s the same distance to Copenhagen and Hamburg. If you land at Billund Airport and need to be transported onwards, there are many options. Public transport is by buses. The bus runs hourly during the day from Billund Airport to nearby major towns.

How do I get the bus to stop?  

  • You must stand at the bus stop and signal to the driver that you want to get on the bus  

How do I buy a ticket? 

  • You can buy a ticket on the bus, and on your mobile phone. On the ticket you can read the starting zone and the number of zones from the starting zone for which the ticket is valid. You can also see on the ticket how long it is valid. When you buy a ticket on the bus, you can only pay in cash and not with a card - please note that the driver is not obliged to accept large notes. 

Mobile ticket  

  • To buy a mobile ticket, you must first download the Sydtrafik mobile ticket app from the app store or Google play. When you buy a mobile ticket, the validity period is the same as for a regular ticket. It is very important that you have the ticket before you board the bus.  

How much are the tickets? 

  • The cost of a journey depends on how many zones you travel. Use rejseplanen.dk to find the number of zones and the cost of your journey. A paying adult can bring 2 children under 12 for free. A paying child can bring one child under 12 for free.

How do I buy a ticket? 

  • You can buy your ticket at the ticket machines located at the stations. Furthermore, you can buy your ticket at Kolding railway station in 7eleven, which is located at the railway station. You cannot pay with cash when you buy your ticket from the ticket machines. Moreover, please note that tickets cannot be purchased on the trains. If you travel without a valid ticket, you will be charged a penalty fee of DKK 750. 

  • You can also buy your ticket on DSB.dk before your journey and print it out.
