From Miniature Town to the Borderland
Morning:
Visit the Miniature Town and Geographical Garden – experience Kolding’s history in miniature format in the Miniature Town, where historic buildings have been recreated in impressive detail. Continue into the Geographical Garden, a botanical gem with beautiful gardens and exotic plants. Then stop by Nicolai to see the changing art and design exhibitions. If you have children with you, make sure to visit Nicolai for Children for creative play and exploration.
Afternoon:
Head to the Landbomuseet in Kolding (Brødsgård) – an agricultural museum with more than 2,500 authentic tools and machines showcasing the development of farming and crafts over the past 100–150 years. The museum is set on Brødsgård in scenic surroundings and offers both outdoor areas and indoor spaces for lunch breaks.
End the day:
At the Reunification and Border Museum (near Christiansfeld) – located exactly where King Christian X rode across the border during the Reunification in 1920. Originally established in 1877 and expanded in 2006, the museum tells the story of the border demarcation, the referendum, and the reunification – and is situated right next to the historic Den Gamle Grænsekro (Old Border Inn).
